Steinbeck S for immediate sale
This guitar is now sold.
I am now offering for sale the third of my Steinbeck S models, the S being a slightly slimmer version of my original Steinbeck. This guitar is identical to the first Steinbeck S, which Martin Simpson has and plays in public. He says of it:
This is one of the best guitars a person could possibly own. I know – I own one and love playing it both at home and at gigs. It is rich, fast, fluid, crisp, and clear, with perfect separation and a beautiful balance between bass and treble.
And with a Highlander pickup fitted, the amplified sound is just amazing. The first time I plugged in my jaw nearly hit the floor.
Martin Simpson
This guitar is every bit as lovely looking and sounding as Martin’s.
Figured Sitka spruce soundboard, ebony fingerboard and bridge
Malaysian Blackwood back and sides, Wenge neck
The back and sides are lovely Malaysian Blackwood and the soundboard is absolutely beautiful figured Sitka spruce. The Neck is Wengé and the fingerboard and bridge are African ebony.
The tuners are Gotoh 150s with black buttons; I believe these top of the range Gotohs to be the best tuners available. The trim is black binding with red/green/gold purfling, now the Steinbeck and Steinbeck S dedicated trim.
A Highlander pickup is not yet fitted, but the bridge is prepared to receive one if required; I can also fit a strap button to the heel. A Hiscox Artist line case (in Ivory) is provided with the guitar. It can be seen along with my dog Ben reflected in the guitar back.
Malaysian Blackwood, unlike African Blackwood, is not a rosewood so can legally be shipped anywhere in the world without requiring certification.
