Both small and large bodied maple mandolins have a clear solid sound with a strong clear bass and treble. Their solid tone and good sustain make for instrumentals and accompaniment.
The small bodied mandolin is biased just a little more towards the treble, and the 5 course version of the large bodied mandolin gives it extra versatility.
